A Bedtime Story, or How I Came to Love Tuft & Needle, the Company and the Mattress

This blog was a restart for me when I moved back in with my parent’s a few years ago. My previous blog was so gaming-focused that real life never felt on-topic. Starting over gave me the opportunity to talk about so many more things, and I had a lot to talk about. I had been… Continue reading A Bedtime Story, or How I Came to Love Tuft & Needle, the Company and the Mattress

Thoughts on Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4, 2017)

Horizon’s biggest achievement is a story that is a) interesting, b) totally justifies robot dinosaurs, and c) makes me want to revisit this setting again and again (though maybe not this precise location). I loved fighting robot dinosaurs, but there weren’t enough of them. I also would’ve appreciated some more variety to their fighting styles.… Continue reading Thoughts on Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4, 2017)

Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4, 2016)

Growing Up Online

Everything you say, everything you do, everything you consume, and everything you pretend to be matters. None of us exist in a vacuum. Whether we choose… Continue reading Growing Up Online

Pillars of Eternity (PC, 2015)

For a very long time, I have doubted the truth of my golden years in terms of cRPGs. I have long heralded Planescape: Torment as one of my favorite games of all time, but was that a mere mirage? I prefer Fallout 1 and 2 to anything Bethesda has ever done with the series and… Continue reading Pillars of Eternity (PC, 2015)

Overwatch (PC, 2016)

Overwatch took the gaming world by storm in May. I cannot blame anyone for liking it either. Blizzard created a fun game with a distinct cast. I originally had no intention of buying it, but after careful consideration and the peer pressure of a few close friends, I could not hold off. After a few… Continue reading Overwatch (PC, 2016)

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir (PS4, 2016)

I remember when Odin Sphere first came out. I had several friends who were totally into it, but I managed to miss it entirely. When I heard it was going a HD remake for Playstation 4, I was instantly interested. A close friend decided to preorder Odin Sphere for the art book ahead of actually… Continue reading Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir (PS4, 2016)
